Jerry Salzano
Jerry Salzano has enjoyed both playing and teaching baseball his entire life. Born and raised in the Trenton-Hamilton area, he attended Steinert High School where he was a standout Varsity player.
He accomplished many feats in his high school career including All-CVC, All-Country and All-Star accolades. Upon his graduation in 1992, he was drafted to play professional baseball. Salzano also was offered over 50 full scholarships to some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation. However, he decided that he was ready to turn pro.
Since then, Salzano has played over 11 years of professional baseball. He has been a member of the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox.
Jerry also played for the Trenton Thunder, the only Trenton born player to ever make the team. During his playing days for the Thunder, Salzano won the 2002 Fan Favorite Award. Today, Salzano runs the Jerry Salzano Baseball Academy. He shows younger ballplayers how to be the best they can be. His enthusiastic personality and baseball knowledge has helped many local players drastically improve.
